About the Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing

The Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing, an integral component of one of the largest Catholic health sciences centers in the world, has been in the forefront of nursing education since its founding in 1928. The School offers baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral (DNP and Ph.D.) programs and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The School offers an infrastructure to support faculty research and practice and offers innovative curricula to effectively address current and future health care needs. The Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing at Saint Louis University invites applications and nominations for one 9-month Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor opening with expertise in teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level in psychiatric nursing.

This 9-month position requires:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or a related field. Doctorate preferred.
  • Certification as a psychiatric mental health advanced practice nurse
  • Strong teaching and clinical skills with the ability to teach at undergraduate and/or graduate levels
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri
  • Develop, deliver, and assess undergraduate and graduate-level courses that maintain and enhance the current psychiatric nursing programs
  • Create inclusive, engaging teaching experiences to develop socially conscious students
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Participate in departmental, school, university, and professional service activities
