What you will do... Lead and coordinate Quality support for the Pepperidge Farm Plant, effectively driving a strong quality system that supports both the site and our customers. Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance Safety, and Engineering to support Operations and overall Quality system adherence. Drive improvement in performance on key metrics such as holds, discards, specification adherence and sensory evaluation. Individual is expected to build relationships cross-functionally, drive root cause analysis for Quality escapes, and clearly communicate to Quality and Operations Leadership. Participates in structured inspections, internal audits, hold investigations and reviews daily documentation as well as participate in all required shift meetings for quality representation. Who you will work with... Supports the QA Team members and Interacts with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation and Engineering to investigate and resolve production issues including foreign material investigations, uncontrolled water events, and other issues as they arise . Participates inspections, product summaries, and documentation reviews. Samples ingredients and completes evaluations and extension requests Completes Micro, YM and Analytical Sampling and Testing as needed. Manages the lab, and chemical and waste needs along with sampling and shipping. Investigates swab failures and manages notifications, corrective actions and documentation of activities. Completes calibrations along with record keeping and management of the calibration system. Facilitates the collection, organization, storage and retention of the Quality System documentation including Operations paperwork packets, COAs, Lab Analytical Reports, and Pkg samples. Assists with the design, development, implementation, continuous operation/improvement and maintenance of the Quality Information System. Participates as an active member on continuous improvement projects; 5S teams, Kaizen events, A-3s, Safety blitzes, Sanitation blitzes, GMP walks, internal audits, internal food safety team, etc. Participates and supports third party audits. (SQF) Performs quality support through observation, verification, and inspection at critical processing steps. Tasks may be operator procedure verifications, inspections of equipment and cleaning performance, as well as raw material, in-process product, or finished product evaluations. Understands HACCP principles and facilitates key Food Safety CPs and CCPs as well as Quality QPs and QCPs. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Sanitation to troubleshoot a product defect or processing issue. Participate in the discussion of potential root causes and assist with the implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions. Regular Training on Food Safety, Food Defense, Internal Auditing, Regulatory visits etc; completion of HACCP Certification; Participates in SQF third party audits. Collaborates with team for preparation and answering audit questions on key job functions which fall under their ownership What you bring to the table... High school diploma or GED 1+ years of QA food industry experience desired It would be great to have... BS Degree is highly desired, Science or related discipline Strong technical acumen - ability to troubleshoot a problem, involve other stakeholders as necessary, and brainstorm potential root causes Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills Computer skills necessary, proficient with Microsoft Office Micro and Analytical sampling and testing background a plus Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $54,400-$78,200Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
