Description
Job Summary: As an Apprentice Equipment Operator Level 1 you will operate, maintain, and transport a variety of makes and models of heavy equipment and on highway vehicles in support of vegetation management and tree trimming operations such as a skid steer or excavator. Work may be performed within the minimum approach distance of energized power lines and around critical infrastructure. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and extreme cold.
