Primary Function: The Early Childhood Credential Coordinator will be a content expert in the processes and delivery of the CDA though the Council for Professional Recognition, Director Credential, and School Age Credential. Through this content knowledge the position will serve as advisor to students in credential coursework. In addition, the Early Childhood Credential Coordinator will develop and administer the Apprenticeship pathway in registered credit and non-credit bearing coursework.

Responsibilities: (1) Serves as point person for credential application renewals and updates for the Director Credential and School Age credential with the PA Key; (2) Monitors course outlines for the CDA, Director Credential, and School Age Credential programs to ensure they are updated, and content is current and reflective of national standards; (3) Makes recommendations for scheduling, modality, and oversees work of instructors teaching credential coursework; (4) Keeps abreast of trends in CDA credential delivery and ensures current offerings are targeted to the needs of the ECE community; (5) Ensures CDA coursework is aligned with national CDA standards, NAEYC standards, and course content is portable and transferrable; (6) Monitors the CDA delivery modalities and provides data driven recommendations for program updates; (7) Oversees Apprenticeship modality processes and keeps abreast of current trends in Apprenticeship; (9) Leads Apprenticeship Advisory Committee; (10) Interfaces with Department of Labor and 1199c for registered apprenticeship model; (11) Seeks grant opportunities in Apprenticeship and makes recommendations to pursue funding; (12) Enters Apprentices in Life Learn and tracks progress across the program, encourages matriculation to next degree; (13) Collect and analyze data related to credentialing trends and make recommendations for improvements to the process; (14) Strict adherence to FERPA, HIPPA, and Confidentiality of all information; and (15) special projects as may be assigned from time to time by leadership.

Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to Director, Early Childhood Education; (2) The Early Childhood Credential Coordinator will be knowledgeable of and interact directly with the internal college systems; (3) They will also work directly with students, faculty, Program Manager, Early Childhood Education Advising Support Specialist, and Intermediary Liaison.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been attained within a specified time frame; (2) Responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives.

Qualifications: (1) Education: Master's degree from a Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor in an appropriate discipline; 2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) demonstrated ability to support teaching faculty and monitor credential programming for compliance; (b) ability to plan and schedule courses, administer budgets, problem-solve, and complete assigned responsibilities and projects; (c) knowledge of curriculum development and academic assessment in higher education; (d) excellent skills in interpersonal communication in both oral and written form; (e) ability to strengthen and develop channels of communication in cooperation with others on and off campus; (f) understanding of the goals and mission of the community college; 3) Experience: (a) successful administrative experience; 5 years preferred; (b) demonstrated successful experience teaching at the college-level; (c) proven track record designing curriculum and programs that support career pathways.
