Acara Solution is seeking a Plant Manager for it's client in Conshohocken, PA The primary responsibility of the Plant Manager is to work as a team with management and plant personnel in the manufacture of coal tar-related products. All plant employees will, at times, be assigned to other duties by management in addition to the duties set forth in this job description. This position works within the scope of managing the plant employees and all aspects of plant manufacturing under the direction of the Vice President and/or President. This position works closely with the Technical Director. The salary will be 100-120K annually with Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k plan, and PTO.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling bulk raw materials in plant to insure continuation of production.
  • Scheduling outbound bulk deliveries to customers.
  • Order parts, equipment, etc. with purchase authority up to $1,000.00, without approval. Up to $10, 000 with supervisor approval.
  • Assure us that all plant equipment is being properly maintained.
  • Distribute disciplinary action to plant employees if they violate work rules with final authority from the Vice President or President.
  • Assure that all plant employees are trained in the required EPA, OSHA, and DOT training.
  • Make determination regarding purchase of plant equipment along with others in management.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants for the timely and accurate environmental reporting
  • Act as liaison with federal/state inspectors.
  • Coordinate and work with outside contractors on the semi-annual environmental compliance audit.
  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise the production of the protective coatings.
  • Coordinate, schedule and supervise the warehouse and non-bulk shipping schedule.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • 5 years or more in a chemical related industry
  • Ability to answer calls in 24-hour environment in case of emergency
  • Must be knowledgeable in training regulations for EPA, OSHA, and DOT
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up 30 lbs.
