The Protective Services Officer is responsible for patrolling JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions,

infringements, etc.

Education:




  • Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired
  • by significant experience in a security operation preferably with completion of a High School
  • degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training.
  • Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and
  • Communications dispatch training.



Requirements:




  • Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self defense equipment.



Work Experience:




  • The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer
  • program at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions or be a law enforcement officer who has
  • graduated from an accredited law enforcement training academy. Must be at least 21 years of
  • age.
