We have a position available in Monmouth Junction, NJ for a CFO.

The CFO, collaborating closely with the President/CEO and other members of Senior Leadership, leads development, management and implementation of the organization's finance and accounting strategy and ensures its strategic alignment with company goals. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: financial reporting, treasury functions, annual budgeting, auditing, cash and investment portfolio, financial assurance, etc.. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring organization's financial resources are effectively managed to support its mission, long-term sustainability and ability to implement its business strategy effectively and compliantly.

Serving as Senior Financial partner within the organization, incumbent plays a lead role in shaping and guiding the company's financial direction, internal processes and fiscal operations, successful capital management, driving strategic initiatives and ensuring sustainable growth through successful long range financial planning and effective and compliant capital financing activities and management.

The CFO is accountable for adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and compliance and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Directs and oversees all financial and accounting functions including, but not limited to: budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost reporting, audit coordination, grant management, regulatory compliance, etc.; Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advisor to President/CEO and Senior Leadership team including insights on financial performance, capital allocation, and risk management; Directs cost monitoring and reporting activities; Drives financial planning, budgeting and regularly monitors and reports on company financial performance, providing timely and accurate financial statements and forecasts

* Leads equity financing efforts from a diverse range of investors and strategic partners; Develops and executes comprehensive capital strategies ensuring alignment with business objectives; Optimizes capital structure and funding opportunities to support growth initiatives

* Oversees and advises departments on preparation and management of annual budget; Assists with evaluation and decision making on short and long-range financial planning with respect to capital and annual operating revenues and expenditures

* Leads and manages commercial partnerships with the US and ex-US partners to ensure effective and productive long-term relationships. Works effectively with other departments and cross-functionally to oversee smooth functioning of relationships, develop optimal partnership structures for prospective partners, develop KPIs and drive revenue and profitability.

* Implements and monitors effective internal controls to safeguard company assets; Identifies and manages compliance, internal controls and financial risks including, but not limited to: liquidity, credit and operational risks, etc.

* Manages relationships with investors, analysts and financial institutions to ensure transparent communication regarding company's financial performance and strategy

* Drives development of innovative financial models and revenue-generating strategies to diversify funding sources, including program efficiency, grants, donations, partnerships and earned income opportunities; Leads and supports efforts to modernize financial operations, leverages technology and utilizes appropriate data analytics to enhance transparency, accountability and performance

* Leads fundraising efforts, which may include public offerings, debt financing and strategic partnerships

* Manages, mentors, coaches and develops direct and indirect reports to build competencies and assure proper succession planning is available

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and minimum 15 years experience working in combination of public AND private pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies in Accounting and/or Finance positions of increasing strategic and leadership responsibility (minimum 7 of those years managing direct and/or indirect reports).

* Proven track record as a CFO, finance officer or other relevant high-level role, with executive presence and ability to successfully drive both external-facing investor relation activities and internal-facing financial planning and analysis activities and controls, including ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements

* Proven track record of strategic financial planning, corporate finance, capital market access and valuation, corporate accounting and investor relations

* Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations, financial reporting standards and compliance requirements

* Ability and experience building trust with investment community by engaging with, and influencing, key investors and both existing and potential external partners

* Experience negotiating and raising equity financing with a successful track record of securing funding from diverse investor bases (i.e., biotech, medical devices, pharma, medical technology, etc.)

* In depth knowledge of corporate financial law, compliant financial reporting and risk management practices

* Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

* Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

* People management experience
