We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Electrical and Controls team. Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experiences in Electrical System Engineering, Controls and EMC design. **Relocation assistance will be provided for this role** Key Responsibilities:
- Controls Design (75%):
- Develop technical specifications for electrical control systems based on Marketing and Customer requirements.
- Design control systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards, including tasks like DFMA's, design analysis, component selection, system layout, controller and display integration, systems verification and validation testing.
- Define, conduct and manage product verification and validation testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and EMC performance, lead troubleshooting and resolve any related issues.
- Establish and maintain standard modules and interfaces for electrical, controls, and software designs.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including engineering project leads, project management, and marketing to deliver solutions to our customers.
- EMI/EMC Design (25%):
- Develop and maintain EMC design guidelines and best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare and present technical reports and documentation related to EMC design and testing.
- Provide technical guidance to design and cross-functional teams to incorporate EMC considerations into product designs for both new and existing products.
- Manage EMC testing and validation with our Suppliers and Customers, review reports, and perform follow-up actions to resolve EMC issues to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Control Systems design.
- Experiences with hardening and testing designs to comply with EMC standards.
- Strong knowledge of control systems, algorithms, and EMC standards and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with simulation and modeling tools, including those for EMI/EMC analysis.
- Knowledge of EMC standards and regulations within Data Centers and Industrial Facilities.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $89,300.00 - $165,800.00
