Internship - Planning & Restoration

Location: Seattle, WA

Practice Area: Planning & Restoration

Compensation: $22.00 / hour

What Is the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking interns to support the Planning & Restoration Practice for our 2025 Internship Program. We will require interns to regularly come into an office and potentially perform fieldwork, depending on project needs.

Interns will experience a combination of hands-on fieldwork and a defined project within their scope of study, as well as the opportunity for exposure to other service areas within our firm. There will be opportunities to work with senior- and principal-level professionals, assisting with project-related tasks and gaining insight into the world of professional consulting. Interns will have a solid understanding of environmental consulting at the conclusion of the program.

What Are We Looking For?

* Current undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a field related to Planning and Restoration (e.g., fisheries, environmental permitting, environmental studies, biology, natural resource management, sustainability, etc.)

* Experience or interest in fieldwork, such as freshwater surveys, nearshore surveys, and/or fish identification skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to interpret and apply technical information

* Excellent organizational skills

* Project management mindset to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines

* Desire to work collaboratively with others to accomplish goals

* Balance of a professional attitude while having fun

What Are the Responsibilities?

Deliver a defined capstone project with assistance from senior engineers, scientists, planners, and other professionals. To support this goal, interns may be asked to:

* Support preparation of documentation related to fisheries and natural resources management, including environmental compliance with federal, state, and local permit requirements

* Conduct literature searches, review documents, and prepare summaries to support report writing

* Conduct field activities, including collection of sediment, soil, water, air, waste, or biota samples or other field tasks

* Assist with field planning, data analysis, and report writing

* Partner to complete field sampling activities in-water and/or on land, project field documentation and supporting preparation of figures and tables for project deliverables

* Complete OSHA HAZWOPER training as required

What Is the Timeline for the 2025 Internship Program?

* February 14 - February 28 Application submittal period

* March 24-28 Anchor QEA Internship Interview Day takes place in our offices nationwide

* April 7- April 18 Selected Candidates receive offers

* May 20 Earliest start date for interns (subject to their availability)
