Job Summary:
Are you looking to start your culinary career? The Wisconsin Union is looking for a prep cook to join their team in the Memorial Union Kitchen. In this role, you will prepare food under the direction of an Assistant Chef. This is your opportunity to join a great team of people dedicated to making great food and becoming recognized as the premier food venue on campus. Responsibilities: Performs a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.

Education: Preferred Qualifications: Previous work experience - high volume kitchen experience preferred License/Certification: Required Work Schedule: Core Hours: 6am- 2pm: Days worked will vary and will include 2 weekends per month. Work Type: It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal appointment. Salary: $16.50 HOURLY Additional Information: The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
