Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, this position directs the Office of Medical Education Quality and Compliance and is responsible for the continuous quality improvement process for the medical education program and for leading key aspects of Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation management. Essential functions include: * Lead and chair the School of Medicine's LCME CQI Leadership Team, in partnership with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education. Founded in 2013, the School of Medicine at UCR is the sixth University of California Medical School. We serve the rapidly growing Inland Southern California region by training a much-needed physician workforce and catalyzing innovations in research, education, and healthcare delivery. Advancement and promotion at the UCR is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input. The successful applicant must qualify for an academic appointment as an Associate Professor or Professor (Ladder Rank), Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical X, or Health Sciences Clinical series at the associate or full professor rank. The successful candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, or an Ed.D., or Ph.D. from an accredited institution in areas such as the health professions, education, or a related field. M.D. or D.O. applicants must be board certified in an ABMS specialty and eligible for licensure or licensed to practice in the State of California in a clinical specialty aligned with the UCR SOM clinical enterprise UCR Health. The incumbent will have a concurrent academic appointment in an appropriate academic/clinical department and is expected to participate in clinical service (for M.D./D.O. candidates), in addition to research, or scholarly activities. The successful candidate will be expected to have at least 5 years of experience in medical education, health professions education, or higher education, with a sound understanding of undergraduate medical education, quality improvement initiatives, and program evaluation, and at least 3 years of project management and supervisory experience, as well as familiarity with LCME accreditation. Additional qualifications include the demonstration of outstanding academic accomplishments and trajectory which may include innovative educational program development, excellence in teaching, clinical leadership, and research or scholarly work. Rank and series will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
