Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, a transatlantic law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) for its San Francisco office. This role is responsible for various administrative duties to support attorneys on the Business Litigation team.

  • Draft and proofread pleadings and other written materials with attention to detail using professional and technical writing skills and grammar.
  • Administrative duties to include: Maintaining attorneys' calendars, scheduling meetings, events, and video conferences, working as the liaison between multiple internal departments; reserving conference rooms, and IT support and equipment as requested.
  • Perform a variety of new client/new matter tasks.
  • Prepare electronic expense reports.
  • Redline documents utilizing comparison software.
  • Utilize cloud document management system using standard firm naming conventions.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing positive business relationships with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
  • Research information requested by attorneys and/or paralegals.
  • Present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups of managers, clients, and timekeepers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of client matters through demonstrated diplomacy and discretion.
  • Enter attorney time as required.
  • Backup duties for other team members.
  • Contribute to a team environment.
  • Assisting with special projects as needed.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor's or associate degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a litigation legal assistant.
  • Complex Litigation experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration on assignments with demonstrated judgment in when to seek assistance.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend details and work at a fast pace with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule with flexibility for overtime as required to meet business needs.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, grammar, proofreading and typing skills with a strong emphasis on accuracy.
  • Proficiency in utilizing MS Suite products.
  • Regular data maintenance working with electronic databases and Excel spreadsheets; advanced proficiency with MS Excel preferred.
  • Local, State and Federal electronic court filing experience required.
  • Experience with NetDocs or other document management system preferred.

Compensation: $75,000-$105,000 is the estimated salary range for this role in San Francisco, California. Starting salary will be determine based on qualifications and experience.
