Description

Position Objective:

Under general supervision, the Facility Maintenance II employee performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance tasks, repair, and renovation of facilities. Responsibilities include plumbing, remodeling, painting, and a variety of other related craft work as assigned. This role operates a variety of maintenance equipment including hand, power, shop tools, etc. and to do related work as required. The nature of work requires sustained physical effort involving continuous light work and occasional heavy work in moving or lifting furniture and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Water batteries and perform light maintenance tasks on the electric lift truck fleet.
  • Maintain housekeeping in common areas on the production floor.
  • Conduct various facilities safety and preventative maintenance audits and repairs.
  • Maintain internal and external facility lighting fixtures, including replacement of ballasts, light bulbs, and fluorescent tubes as necessary.
  • Perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, repair, and minor construction work involving plumbing, carpentry, remodeling, painting, and other craft work.
  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures and fittings, including sinks, toilets, faucets, and related equipment; repair leaks and stoppages.
  • Perform general maintenance duties inside and outside of facilities; install and repair masonry, including concrete, brick, stucco, plaster, and tile; perform maintenance painting, including application of paints, varnishes, and lacquers.
  • Install, maintain, and repair gates, locks, and door hardware.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on printers and copiers throughout the facilities.
  • Conduct light outside maintenance, emptying outside trash cans, and upkeep of exterior break areas.
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Operate and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of maintenance equipment, including power and hand tools.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of written records and reports.
  • Observe safe work methods and use safety equipment; set traffic controls, secure worksites from hazards, and attend training and safety meetings as necessary.
  • Work weekends, holidays, or other irregular hours as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Work hours Monday-Friday (8:30 am - 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:30 pm)

Requirements

Technical Requirements: Must be capable and willing to work safely, capable of working from ladders, and have general mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills, good housekeeping, and organizational skills. Able to lift 50lbs intermittently, perform manual labor tasks indoors and outdoors in various seasonal weather conditions.

Knowledge Requirements: At least one (1) year of work experience painting, performing maintenance and repairs on plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems and equipment commonly found in commercial facilities. Preferably some knowledge of copiers and printers.

Education Requirement: High School Diploma

Licenses or Certificates: License or certificates in any of the above-mentioned trade skills are beneficial

Special Skills: Must have basic hand and power tools. Able to perform fundamental math operations including converting fractions and ability to read a tape measure.
