The Christman Company is looking for a Director of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) to lead our VDC strategy, drive innovation, and enhance our construction technology as it relates to project delivery. In this role, you'll oversee corporate and regional initiatives, oversee a high-performing team of VDC professionals, and implement cutting-edge technology that differentiates Christman in the market.

What You Will Do:

As Director of VDC , your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership & Business Planning:

• Develop and implement strategic initiatives for VDC that support corporate and regional business goals.
• Lead efforts to differentiate The Christman Company in the marketplace through cutting-edge VDC strategies.
• Manage and execute annual team & department strategic planning initiatives.

People Management & Development:

• Oversee VDC resource allocation and workforce planning, ensuring optimal resource leveling.
• Identify team members' strengths and talents, leveraging them for company success.
• Develop and train staff, ensuring compliance with The Christman Way and fostering professional growth.
• Promote a culture of mentorship, ethics, diversity, and continuous improvement.

Construction Technology & Innovation:

• Drive continuous innovation and growth across all VDC capabilities, including but not limited to 3D, 4D, 5D, and 6D modeling.
• Oversee research and development efforts, approving and supporting new technology adoption.
• Implement and utilize new technologies to enhance marketing and project management practices.

VDC Core Responsibilities:

• Ensure all VDC/BIM deliverables meet project and client requirements.
• Develop and oversee project-specific VDC strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate standards.
• Maintain and update front-end documents, BIM Execution Plans (BIMx), and corporate best practices based on industry trends.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related job field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), Building Information Modeling (BIM), or related disciplines.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and strategic planning.
• Expertise in construction technologies, project risk management, and emerging digital tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive organizational change.
• OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.

• Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Key attributes include self-motivation, problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence in presenting concepts and ideas.
• Proficiency in core Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Synchro.
• Strong computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively through listening, interpreting, formulating, and delivering messages in verbal, non-verbal, written, and electronic formats.
• Strong collaboration skills to foster effective partnerships in a fast-paced, highly creative design process.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while planning, scheduling, and managing professional tasks within established deadlines.
• Analytical skills to research, evaluate options, draw conclusions, present findings, and provide thoughtful recommendations considering both risk and short-term/long-term impact.
• Strong multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
