Company Profile
Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) develops, manufactures, and operates customized marine systems, shipboard equipment, subsea vehicles, and engineered solutions for commercial and U.S. military vessels. Oceaneering Aerospace and Defense Technologies (AdTech) delivers solutions that enable humans to work safely and effectively in harsh environments - from underwater to the outer reaches of space. Our innovative solutions support the development and application of practical, cost-effective systems that meet our customers' challenges - from routine to extreme. Our experience and expertise across multiple industries uniquely positions us as a leader in the government, space, and maritime services markets. Our products and services meet the rigorous demands of the complex environments in which they operate, delivering results without compromising safety or reliability. Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. We develop products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield, from drilling to decommissioning. We operate the world's premier fleet of work class ROVs. Additionally, we are a leader in offshore oilfield maintenance services, umbilicals, subsea hardware, and tooling. We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries. Position Summary
The Project Systems Engineer applies a working knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals to provide guidance to the division's engineering and design activities under the direction of a Program Manager. The Project Systems Engineer will be required to interact with other OTECH personnel and the client to guide engineering efforts to meet the client's requirements. The Project Systems Engineer will provide guidance to engineering design efforts through the development of systems engineering analysis documentation, including: concepts of operations, mission scenario development, development of requirements specifications, interface definitions, hazard analysis, RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) analyses, test planning activities. Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL * In support of the mission engineering function perform analysis of user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to assist in the development of system requirements specifications. * Define the content handling processes for the massive volumes of data to be collected from the vehicle and its subordinate elements, including definition of the requirements for the ETL (extract-transform-load) processes that will define transferring, filtering, and curating of data at the required frequencies and resolutions, as necessary to inform decision-making at the appropriate levels of detail. * Support definition and stitching together of various tools within the Digital Engineering Ecosystem (DEE), leveraging existing APIs to facilitate data exchange between constituent tools. * Investigate and implement via prototyping and experimentation a variety of machine learning techniques that will be invoked on the LH System of Systems to assist the Operators and Maintainers throughout the vehicle lifecycle; select and support deployment of those techniques proven to be viable and effective at meeting customer use cases and requirements. * Support the ingestion and analysis of Integration, Test and Evaluation data that will accumulate as the system of systems is brought together, starting from data collected during risk reduction testing and continuing throughout the completion of Builder's Trial's and GAT-1 and -2. * Review and extension of the modeling of software and data flows within the MBSE efforts in Cameo, to include behaviors, interfaces, and metrics used to define and assess satisfaction of system requirements. * Guide and perform system development and implementation planning through Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods. * Displays excellent technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to look at the "big picture" in system design. * Demonstrates ability to devise innovative solutions to problems. * Reviews progress and evaluates results of work accomplished by self and others. * Prepares reports and presents results to management and client. * Some travel may be required. * Additional duties as assigned.
