Position Summary

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), you will work under the supervision of the Team Coordinator or Clinical Specialist, with leadership guidance from the Rehab Therapy Services Team Leader or Outpatient/Inpatient Manager. You'll help implement treatment plans designed by licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) to assist patients with neuromusculoskeletal and cardiopulmonary conditions, supporting them in reaching their highest level of function.

Key Responsibilities:





  • Deliver and adjust treatments based on OT-established plans.



  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to maximize patient outcomes.



  • Rotate through various areas or specialize in a specific service area as needed.



  • Contribute to service and departmental improvements to enhance patient care.





Qualifications and Skills

Education:





  • Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.





Knowledge & Skills:





  • Strong understanding of social, behavioral, and biological sciences, including anatomy, kinesiology, and psychology.



  • Knowledge of OT theory, techniques, and current healthcare practices.



  • Competent with computers and data management.



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with age-appropriate adaptations.





Licensure & Certification:





  • Licensed by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.



  • Current CPR certification.





Experience:





  • Successful completion of clinical internships, as required by your academic program.



  • Acute Care Experience





Technical Skills:





  • Proficient in operating treatment equipment such as physical agent modalities, therapeutic devices, and general exercise equipment.





Working Conditions:





  • Environment: May involve standing or walking for long periods, lifting, and assisting patients.

Salary Range: Minimum 26.19 per hour - Maximum 43.24 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
