THOR Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) with experience in configuration, operation, maintenance, and repair of US Navy Ship Combat Systems to support ATGPAC Battle Lab Training at Naval Base San Diego. This role is pivotal in ensuring our ship's Combat Systems' operational readiness and effectiveness, demanding strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate within a dynamic team environment.

Typical Responsibilities:
  • Act as pseudo pilot; directed by the ships in any given exercise to fly the simulated helicopter to different areas to identify surface contacts in training scenario.
  • Use the Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF) training simulation system to conduct maneuvers with the aircraft.
  • Act as the pseudo pilot for the P-8 in training scenarios.
  • Leverage knowledge of aircraft search tactics.

Location: Fully onsite at Naval Base San Diego.

Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.

Typical Pay Range:The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $85-95k/year. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.

Existing Security Clearance Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must already possess an active or interim Secret clearance.

TypicalKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • At least five (5) years of ship Combat Systems experience with configuration, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Qualified as an ASTAC.
  • Mid-level experience in controlling Rotary Wing aircraft in Surface and Anti Surface Warfare operations.
  • At least two (2) years of scenario development/training experience and configuration and operation experience with Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF) and Tactical Voice/Data Communications.
  • Proficiency with common productivity software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
