Job Overview:The ESOL & Digital Literacy Instructor is responsible for providing classes that focus on integrated English language instruction and, separately, digital literacy instruction for non-native adults enrolled into the program. ESOL class curriculum integrate workforce skills and information on American culture, the community, and civics education. Digital Literacy classes will aim to provide exposure and basic information on use and navigation of technology tools for community navigation, integration, and communication. The instructor must be able to successfully develop and tailor curriculum and materials to the needs of students enrolled into the program including the support of student recruitment, registration, attendance tracking, retention, progress and assessment. This is a full-time non-exempt 37.5 hour per week position, reporting to the Adult Education Instructional Supervisor. Currently program ESOL classes are scheduled to meet Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and the timing of this position's class and digital literacy class determined by funder requirements and partner agreements. Each Monday, new student orientation and registration takes place with all program instructors assisting to enroll new participants into the program on a rolling basis throughout the year.
