Position Summary

As a nationally

New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI)
investigates any death occurring across the state of New Mexico that is
sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is found dead and the
cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program within the
Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in these
cases, and provides formal death certification.

OMI is currently seeking a

Administrative Assistant 3 for our Grief Services Program. The OMI Grief
Services Program focuses on providing counseling, information, referrals,
advocacy, and emotional support to those dealing with the sudden death of
someone they love. This program provides short-term counseling and referral
to community grief support groups or long-term counseling options. These
services are provided at no cost to families.

The individual in this role
will perform and oversee a range of associated administrative functions for
the Grief Services Department. They will serve as a central liaison with
department staff and families of decedents experiencing trauma, grief and
loss, requiring excellent customer service skills, empathy, de-escalation,
resilience, and patience. They will coordinate and facilitate meetings and

Workers appropriate to Grief Services Program guidelines. Due to the
sensitive nature of the service we provide, discretion and confidentiality
are paramount in this position. This person may be responsible for completing

and control, equipment, inventory management, recordkeeping and database
management.

If this sounds like you, then we invite you to apply. OMI is a
