Function:

Intern/Co-op Job Summary:The Internal Audit (IA) department is seeking a motivated, self-starting, and curious Data Analytics Intern to join our team for the summer of 2025. This internship offers hands-on experience in various aspects of data analytics including database design, data visualization, data pipeline management, as well as working with online data systems such as cloud tools and APIs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a keen interest in leveraging data to drive business insights. This is a great opportunity to have a tangible impact on a team that is building out and expanding many of its core functions within newly available enterprise technologies. Successful candidates will think outside the box, quickly learn and share knowledge with the team, and be willing to get their hands "dirty" with data that requires significant cleaning. The role requires being in the Northbrook office 4 days per week to fully experience a teams-based work environment. Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

  • Create and manage data pipelines to streamline data collection, processing, and storage.

  • Develop data visualizations to communicate insights effectively using tools like Tableau.

  • Assist with continuous infrastructure improvements to department reporting.

  • Work with APIs to retrieve and publish data to/from various sources.

  • Collaborate with IA team members to better understand pain points and develop solutions to address those pain points.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts.

  • Proficiency with Python including Jupyter/Databricks Notebooks, standard analysis libraries (Pandas, NumPy), API connectivity, version control (Azure DevOps), etc.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau.

  • Exposure to cloud computing concepts and tools such as Databricks, blob storage, and centralized credential management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in a business-oriented major with a STEM focus, or a STEM major with a business focus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Previous experience with data analytics projects either through coursework or other internships is a plus.

The estimated hourly pay for the position is typically between $17.31 - $21.51

The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
