DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an IT Generalist 1, you will be tasked with providing a variety of support and systems enhancement activities for IT end users in the district and county offices as well as construction field offices, county stockpiles, welcome centers, driver license centers, and other remote PennDOT, DCED, and PEMA sites as needed. Work involves analyzing and resolving IT incidents; installing and upgrading software and hardware; as well as utilizing network administrative tools to monitor and diagnose network issues. You will have the opportunity to provide support and training, to include formal and information training regarding upcoming IT initiatives for district and county users. Additional responsibilities include:
- Documenting and managing work assignments
- Providing support for telecommunication equipment and services
- Performing hardware and software diagnostic procedures
- Ensuring staff are equipped with appropriate devices
- Authorizing appropriate security group memberships and roles
- Assisting remote users with installation of security certificates, training, and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Maintaining inventory of equipment
- Testing and evaluating new products and technology

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time experience in IT support/installation involved with technology CADD support (Installation and support of software such as Open Roads, Cadd Software, Bentley Software, etc.).
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time experience in IT support/installation involved with technology of automotive and heavy diesel garage diagnostic software and vehicle connectivity (for example: engine diagnostic code readers, ODB2 scan tools, Ford IDS software, AutoEnginuity, Premium Tech Tool, Noregon JPro etc.).
- This particular position also requires two or more years of full-time experience in IT support/installation of hardware and software in a traffic management center and familiarity with concepts of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) environment.
