Ignite Director Job Description

The part-time, stipend based job of the ignite director is to plan, communicate and lead approximately 3 activities per month (August - April) that will help high school students have a better understanding of the careers that are available for their futures. These activities will occur at various times such as afternoon, evening or weekends. There will be day-long field trips that occur during the school day each semester, but most of the other experiences will occur outside of the school day and will be optional to students. Experiences will vary but must include experiences that make use of our University connections and community resources. Ignite directors will also help students prepare for their capstone presentations which will occur in April. The ignite director should have enough flexibility to be able to work their schedule to accommodate these activities.

IGNITE is Lipscomb Academy's pre-professional program designed to expose interested students to experiences that will help them decide what they want to do in their future. What careers will they choose to pursue? Students must complete at least 10 experiences from about 20-25 offered experiences throughout the year.
