The Arizona Simulation Technology & Education Center in the University of Arizona Health Sciences Division invites applicants to apply for the part-time position of Research Data Support Specialist II. This position supports research projects by leveraging digital tools, virtual environments, and virtual patient simulation platforms for data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Key responsibilities include implementing research protocols, managing complex datasets, and maintaining detailed documentation to support reporting and publications. The individual in this position collaborates closely with supervisors to meet project objectives, address challenges, and contribute to innovative solutions, including the integration and optimization of virtual tools. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Conduct research under the guidance of the director using virtual reality systems, virtual environment software, and virtual patient platforms to collect and reconcile data. Tasks include configuring digital environments, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data collected.
- Perform routine initial analyses to draw meaningful insights and support project objectives.
- Under the general supervision of the director, contribute to the planning and development of research studies by drafting methodologies and workflows tailored to the project's objectives.
- Provide routine contributions by creating and documenting research protocols that outline clear steps for data collection and analysis.
- Maintain comprehensive and accessible records to ensure reproducibility, and prepare materials for presentations or publications.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate virtual reality systems and virtual patient tools into research and training workflows. Provide feedback on the effectiveness of these tools.
- Support project organization by maintaining detailed schedules, tracking deadlines, and ensuring documentation is updated.
- Assist in preparing and submitting project deliverables, reports, and compliance materials.
- Provide logistical support for team meetings, presentations, and any required stakeholder communications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of recent advancements in artificial intelligence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, volunteers, and research staff/supervisors.
- Ability to handle confidential UAHS student information.
- Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- One (1) year of experience working in a research lab.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
