Position Highlights

The Financial Analyst II position is part of the team of Finance & Planning Analysts in Eller Administration. This team works collaboratively to support the college budgeting process, financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. This position will work closely with the Dean's office and Eller departments to ensure proper financial planning, adherence to budgets, and accurate interpretation of financial data. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reconciliation and Financial Monitoring

  • Reconcile payroll expenditures and position distribution with budget detail.
  • Other Professional Services (OPS) position reconciliation.
  • Monitor budget to actuals reports, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Reconcile faculty teaching load to budget.
  • Reconcile data across the Budget Planning system, Anaplan, and the internal budget file.

Routine Reporting

  • UA Foundation reporting for Eller Administration.
  • Financial reporting to departments.
  • Assist in creating new reports and maintaining reports and dashboards in UAccess Analytics.
  • Employment change report.
  • Micro campus programs P&L.

Budget Data Management

  • Assist in loading budget via the RBC system.
  • Supporting data entry in Anaplan for the All-Funds, original budget, and forecasting processes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to reconcile data across multiple data systems.
  • Advanced expertise in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey financial information to various audiences effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
  • Knowledge of principles of good data management.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze large data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in higher education
  • Experience with university systems (UAccess Analytics, Financials, Employee, and Student and RBC system)
  • UAccess Analytics Certification and/or experience in creating reports and agents and managing dashboard pages
  • Experience with Power Query and VBA
