Basic Qualifications

Education Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Senior Advanced Software Engineer in the High Performance Computing (HPC) group, you'll support critical programs and emerging technologies across the business before transitioning into an exciting career path in High Performance Computing. You'll work with cross-business and cross-functional teams, apply your skills and experience, learn and apply new advanced tools and processes to prepare for your HPC journey. Once you have transitioned, you'll be a member of a cross functional team helping deliver and maintain tailored HPC systems to meet our customer's tough applications. It's a challenge that will put your talent in the spotlight. Your HPC work activities would include designing and implementing solutions and algorithm optimization associated with data sets used for analysis, modeling, and predicting.

  • Demonstrable history of continuous learning in advanced computing systems, hardware, software, mathematics, physics, or end-mission applications and support.
  • Collaborative team player with experience working on teams with diverse engineering skills.
  • Expertise in applying technology and technical skills to solve challenges in creative ways.
  • Willingness to dig into hardware specifications and leveraging hardware interfaces in the composition of low-level software solutions.
  • Energized by the diverse software and computer engineering problem sets of HPC.
  • A willing and effective collaborator with team members, customers, and general technical counterparts.
  • Knowledge of general programming principles and optimization strategies, with previous experience in Assembly, C/C++, Python, Rust, Embedded Linux, or others.
  • Development and testing skills in HPC applications or advanced computing / embedded systems.
  • Analytical and innovative outlook on software and systems
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
  • Continuous learning in advanced computing systems, hardware, software, end-mission applications, and support.

While on-site, you will be a part of GDMS' Bloomington, MN facility.

Target salary range: USD $146,148.00/Yr. - USD $155,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
