OVERVIEW The primary responsibility of this position relies on ambitious virtual, in-person and hybrid programming that will include developing, coordinating, and supervising innovative and interesting social, recreational, wellness, and educational programs and activities for blind and low-vision adults living in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area and beyond. This program is primarily funded through San Francisco's Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS) and therefore has measurable goals and objectives to meet the City's funding requirements. To accomplish this goal the Adult Program Specialist will collaborate with instructors including volunteers, community partners, and/or other facilitators. Community Services Department is supported by Grant funding and that our services are now close to 90% covered through Grants. This position demonstrates comfortability with both virtual programming (i.e. Zoom) is creative, flexible, good-humored, positive identity with blindness, training in geriatric issues and in possession of strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to relate to a diverse array of people and have the ability to teach or lead classes and programs too. The LightHouse Adult Program Specialist will report to the Manager of Community Services and work with a variety of LightHouse staff, volunteers and other community constituents to develop LightHouse programming that will increase participation amongst blind and low-vision adults age 18+ and promote the equality and self-reliance of participants. The position requires regular work across a diverse schedule that includes evenings and weekends. QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to perform other related duties as assigned, within the scope of this role. EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Regular evening and weekend assignments. * Ability to carry or transport 25 lbs. * Ability to independently travel to all LightHouse physical locations and events, as well as throughout Northern California up to Eureka, to provide services as needed.
