The University of Virginia's Center for Comparative Medicine is seeking Assistant Vivarium Supervisors. Assistant Vivarium Supervisors work closely with research animals and is responsible for maintaining and assessing their health, provides moderately complex support for research labs or facilities, assisting with routine research, writing, and administrative work, performs a variety of tests, and sets up equipment and materials for course instruction. The mission of theCenter for Comparative Medicineis to support biomedical research and teaching that utilizes laboratory animals. The Center does this in a manner which promotes the policies set by theInstitutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)whose charge is to oversee compliance by personnel at the University of Virginia with federal regulations and guidelines.
