Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) contractor providing Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Systems Joint Mission Planning support to the U.S. Space Force, Space Operations Command (SpOC), Space Delta 2 (DEL 2). This is a full-time position at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO that allows 1-2 days per week of tele-work at the discretion of the Government.

SDA is foundational to Protecting and Defending US Space Systems that provide space-based Intelligence, Early Warning, Communications and Global Positioning services that sustain our way of life, support our national economy and function as force multipliers in times of conflict. Odyssey Systems is looking for high-performing, passionate people ready to make a difference by joining our existing team of dedicated professionals in the SDA workforce!

DEL 2 executes day to day SDA operations for ground-based SDA sensors and command and control (C2) systems, and space-based Environmental Monitoring (EM).



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

* Expert proficiency in the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) and the Joint Publication 5-0, Joint Planning
* Understanding assessments and input into the Joint Strategic Planning System to include the Chairman's Risk Assessment, Joint Warfighter Concept, Annual Joint Assessment, Joint Military Net Assessment, Joint Force Readiness Review, Planning Programing, Budget and Execution inputs, Campaign/Contingency plans, and other requirements processes
* Serving as primary or alternate analyst in support of Operational Planning Teams (OPT), Boards, Bureaus, Centers, Cells, and Working Groups (B2C2WG), and other planning teams
* Adept knowledge and expertise in Joint planning policy, assessments, and doctrine
* Analyzing mission objectives and effects when developing plans or studies.
* Developing and utilizing appropriate data collection techniques to design, build, and brief recommendations to senior leaders
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relations
* Demonstrated experience providing briefings, presentations, and reports to senior level military/civilian personnel
* Ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques to design, build, and brief recommendations to senior leaders



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Possess a DOD Secret level clearance and possess the ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Education: Possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of mission planning and instructor experience

Years of Experience: Five or more years of demonstrated experience in conducting tactical and strategic planning and analysis, identifying strategic challenges and potential opportunities, and conducting operational and strategic risk assessments. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working on a high-level staff and supporting senior-level military/civilian personnel.

Certifications: DoD Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase 1 and Joint Intelligence Planner Level I (JIP-I)

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Active TS/SCI, agreeable to polygraph

Education: Master's degree and minimum of eight years of mission planning and instructor experience.

Years of experience: Eight years or more years of experience in conducting tactical and strategic planning and analysis, identifying strategic challenges and potential opportunities, and conducting operational and strategic risk assessments. A successful candidate will possess previous Space planning experience at operational/theater level (e.g. Combatant Command, Joint/Combined Task Force, Component), and experience in supporting USSPACECOM, AFSPACE, NAVSPACE or SMDC/ARSPACE operations and/or exercises.

Certifications: JPME Phase II and Joint Information Planner's Course Phase II (JIPC-II)

Additional Information

Location: Work is performed at Peterson Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO

Travel: Infrequent travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction

Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: This position allows 1-2 days/week of tele-work at the discretion of the Government.
