Under the supervision of our Senior Manager of College Operations, you will be responsible for creating, writing, and publishing compelling and engaging content that enhances visibility for our key focal areas: programs, research, alumni/donor relations, and college rankings. Through these efforts, you will help attract top-notch students and faculty while improving the college's profile among several key audiences, including prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, donors, and peer institutions.

You will need strong writing and digital design skills to succeed in this position. You must be organized, deadline-driven, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. Additionally, you should be adaptable to the fast pace, changing dynamics of the dean's office and capable of producing engaging content using traditional and non-traditional media.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and curate engaging content for the college's website, social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital media. This content can include articles, blog posts, videos, graphics, and infographics to communicate important information to students, faculty, prospective students, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the college's social media channels (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), ensuring that content is timely, relevant, and aligned with the college's brand and mission. This involves creating a content calendar, posting regularly, and engaging with followers.
  • Ensure the college's website is regularly updated with accurate and current information, including the latest news, events, and announcements.
  • Support the college's recruitment and retention efforts by developing targeted digital marketing campaigns. This could include email marketing, digital advertising, and other online strategies to attract prospective students, faculty, and staff.
  • Track the performance of digital campaigns and online engagement using analytics tools.
  • Create and edit video content for promotional purposes, such as virtual campus tours, interviews, faculty research highlights, and student testimonials.
  • Proactively support the execution of communications strategies, focusing on creating content, managing social media channels, editing website content, and driving engagement to enhance the College of Nursing's brand presence.
  • Increase engagement and participation across new media channels; respond quickly to messages or inquiries; and route them to the proper departments.
  • Track and monitor other competitor organizations' social media channels and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Design graphics for email, invitations, social media, website, video, and printed collateral as needed.
  • Author news articles for publication on the College of Nursing's website.
  • Edit copy, fact check, and proofread content for use in print and digital materials.
  • Create content for, produce, and lay out the College of Nursing's e-newsletters, which are sent to College Faculty & Staff, Alumni, and Donors.
  • Produce content for several communications channels, including press releases, website, social media accounts, digital advertising, video, and more.
  • Distribute content on various platforms, including the College of Nursing website, social media channels, and the UA e-newsletters.
  • Serve as the primary initial
    point of contact for all media requests, including coordinating and
    conducting interviews, and providing photos and quotes.
  • Build and maintain strong
    relationships with faculty and staff to source story ideas and address
    communications needs.
  • Produce and edit video
    content for CON.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in using social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram) and developing social media content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects with successful on-time delivery and attention to detail.
  • Proven understanding of audience segmentation and ability to identify different communication/ outreach strategies to engage diverse age groups and audiences effectively.
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, planning, and communications skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing, and able to take initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team, resolving issues with a positive outcome.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of branding, organizational identity, and Associated Press style standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in writing articles with placement in conventional digital media outlets and other communication materials.
  • Experience with developing website content, UI/UX design, Page Design, and multimedia production.
  • Experience managing CMS platforms such as SharePoint.
