*Description*
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior to Staff Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in supporting our Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems. This role will focus on administering, optimizing, and troubleshooting *SQL Server and Cassandra* databases in mission-critical environments. Experience with *Oracle and Postgres* is a plus but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration for large-scale, high-availability environments and a passion for optimizing systems to meet the demands of our fast-paced supply chain operations. Responsibilities: *Database Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, patching, and upgrading of SQL Server and Cassandra database systems. *Performance Optimization: Analyze, monitor, and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and rapid response times, particularly in high-transactional environments. *Capacity Planning and Scaling: Design and implement scaling solutions for database clusters to support growth and performance demands. *Data Security & Compliance: Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies. *Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline database maintenance tasks, monitoring, and performance tuning. *Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, network engineers, and system administrators to resolve issues and implement improvements. *Documentation and Best Practices: Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed. *On-call Support: Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 support for critical database environments. *Top Skills Details* cassandra, sql database ,database administrator *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on SQL Server and Cassandra. Technical Skills: Required: - Strong expertise in SQL Server database administration (backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, monitoring). - Hands-on experience with Cassandra in production environments, including configuration, scaling, and performance tuning. Optional: Knowledge of Oracle and Postgres is a plus. Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-availability, high-transactional systems. Automation Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate administrative tasks and support DevOps initiatives. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams. Preferred Qualifications Certifications: Relevant database certifications (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Cassandra, or Oracle) are desirable. Supply Chain Experience: Prior experience supporting database systems for SCM, warehousing, or logistics applications. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
