Description
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Safely directs work and performs stopping and tapping, welding, fabrication of assemblies and all duties associated with the operation, maintenance, and construction of gas distribution and transmission systems. Monitors, operates, maintains, and repairs all related Company equipment, including tapping and plugging machines. Maintains all related documents and forms to comply with Company procedures and federal guidelines. Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and after hour calls. Nothing in this job summary restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school education and welding experience.
  • Able to operate gas construction equipment.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain API 1104 and/or ASME Section IX welding certification, plastic fusion, and SCBA certifications.
  • Requires a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities. Possess or acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver's license appropriate for the position (NOTE: Must be 21 to acquire a CDL valid for interstate travel).
  • Possess or acquire a valid Crane Operators Certification as required for this position.
  • Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
  • Requires extensive travel 50% - 75%.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in United States, no sponsorships considered.
  • Subject to Pre-employment Drug Testing Policy and Background Check.
  • Must successfully complete the applicable Apprenticeship Training Program.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Certified welder qualified in the operation, maintenance, and construction of a gas distribution system or equivalent field experience acceptable to the Company.
  • Skilled in hydraulics operation and maintenance.
  • Experience in stopping and tapping of large low and high-pressure gas systems.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with good written/oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to exceed the needs of the customer and grow the Company's regulated and non-regulated businesses.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Organizes work assignments and assists in training to ensure work is efficiently and safely completed.
  • Stopping and tapping utilizing a variety of manufacturers equipment, welding and plastic fusion, and fabrication of assemblies.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.


Journeyperson Wage - $52.96
