Analyst - Production Planning (Contract)

SUMMARY

We are looking to employ a detail-oriented production planner to assist principal product planners to update rolling supply plans to meet anticipated demand, optimize system operating configuration and rates, schedule orders, and perform fleet and logistics optimization to ensure business and customer requirements are met within the North American Vinyls chain, including merchant Chlorine/ EDC/VCM or Caustic as part of the S&OP team. The output of this position is critical for supporting the S&OP team with planning, analysis and maintenance of data systems and tools. This position will also serve as a primary backup to principal product planners. A background in statistics and Data analytics is a strong plus for this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintain plant operating rates (Master Scheduling Planning)
  • Maintain plant inventories and truck, railcar, barge, and ship demand
  • Maintain terminal inventories and truck and barge demand
  • Perform product railcar assignments and selections
  • Update key production plan spreadsheets and reports with proper analysis for plant optimization
  • Generate forecasts and operating plans, collaborating with Sales, Operations, and Business Management
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to manage logistics challenges
  • Engage with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and logistics, to support integrated planning efforts.
  • Assist with development of and use of Digital Optimization tools for supply chain
  • Be an integral business team member, driving actions that maximize earnings and meet business goals
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, engineering, or related field.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and be able to develop accurate, detailed analyses under time pressure.
  • Planning tools experience (Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, SAP, JD Edwards, OMP etc) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skilss with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
