Department Summary The Department of Teacher Education and Administration seeks to improve educational practice through the generation of knowledge and to prepare education professionals who serve all students in an effective, inclusive and equitable manner. Its focus is on the preparation of highly competent educators, researchers and administrators who employ current theory and research as they fill these important roles. The department also provides service to educational institutions, governmental agencies and practitioners at all levels. Position Overview The Summer Project Assistant Position is only for Science, Engineering and Math undergraduates and graduates to participate in the 2025 Summer UNT STEM Camp program as "near-peer mentors" (NPMs). NPMs will collaborate with a team of other mentors to facilitate STEM activities with groups of ~6 secondary students at a time. Additionally, the position requires completion of one or two original lesson plans and a video (poster session or short talk). The assistant will gain experience in writing and presenting STEM education research practices while working with diverse student populations. Minimum Qualifications

Required License/Registration/Certifications Having a teaching certificate will disqualify applicant from internship program. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.This position is scheduled to run from June 2 to June 27, 2025. The assistant will be expected to work 33 hours per week.
