You will join our Structural and Architectural department

As our new Architectural Designer, you will be part of a highly skilled and experienced team of building design professionals who execute interesting and diverse projects in the municipal, industrial, institutional and commercial sectors. Our team is at the forefront of helping clients achieve their built environment goals emphasizing sustainability concepts. You will have opportunities to collaborate with design and construction professionals in all the Ramboll business units and organizations in the Americas and globally including Environment & Health, Water, and Advanced Manufacturing.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Manage assigned project workloads for self and other architects assigned to projects.
  • Interface with all levels of staff, clients and subcontractors.
  • Accountable to your direct Resource Manager and multiple Project Managers.
  • Fiscally responsible for project performance objectives under your control.
  • Business development, preparation of scope of work, budget fees and schedules to complete work.
  • Function as BIM/ CAD Coordinator on various projects if assigned.
  • Determines project requirements and develop production documents to meet those requirements.
  • Complete production drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
  • Evaluates needs for design changes and makes appropriate recommendations to project manager.
  • Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.
  • Undertakes research, investigation, writing and editing of reports on the findings
  • Prepare reports supporting design efforts.
  • Project coordination with internal and external client contact

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and 3+ years of relevant experience; or
  • Associates Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology and 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Thorough knowledge within architectural core competencies such as: programming; schematic design; code research; design development; construction document development; specifications & materials research; document checking & coordination, building systems coordination, building cost analysis and construction phase procedure.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Architectural Desktop required
  • Experience in Design-Build project delivery.
  • Experience with Architectural Code Review write-ups and development of Life Safety Plans.
  • Experience related to hazardous material storage and use areas located inside and outside of a building, preferred.
  • Willingness to grow and learn new market sectors and areas where you lack experience.
  • Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: confident communicator with colleagues and clients, ability to interact directly with clients, work independently with direction and support from senior staff, actively participate in team development and individual professional growth, and strong report writing skills.
