Accountabilities
Under direct supervision of the Director of Facilities Operations the Summer HVAC Tech Intern will:

  • Assist with the effort on HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Assist in establishing HVAC project budgets and parts ordering.
  • Work with HVAC tools to properly diagnose and repair HVAC equipment.
  • Assist with the Building Automation operations, to include diagnosing and repairing the


BAS system.

  • Responsible for following all procedures to conduct work activities in a safe manner including but not limited to wearing PPE required for specific duties and safe handling of chemicals as outlined by University policies and/or the supervisor.
  • Responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor and/or Environmental Health and Safety.

Professional Experience/ Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with a wide range of individuals.
  • Availability to work overtime as needed.


Certifications:

  • A valid driver's license in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

  • EPA Section 608 - Universal Technician Certification.

Preferred Qualifications
Education
This opportunity has been created for current college students enrolled in an HVAC program.
Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to lift and carry up 50 pounds, while from time-to-time may be required to


assist with lifting objects up to 100 pounds.

  • Required to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Responsible for following all procedures to conduct work activities in a safe manner
