Responsibilities The role involves diagnosing and treating individuals with psychiatric disorders, substance use disorders, and medical issues. Key Responsibilities: Directs the interdisciplinary team in alignment with PrairieCare's treatment programs and core philosophy. Ensures high-quality care for adults, adolescents, children, and their families dealing with psychiatric and substance use disorders, in accordance with granted Medical Staff privileges. Provides services across various settings, including hospital, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, outpatient, or residential programs. Maintains knowledge of available follow-up resources for adults, adolescents, and children. Facilitates individual and family therapy sessions. Qualifications Qualifications for Psychiatrist: Must hold a valid medical license from the State of Minnesota. Completion of an accredited Postgraduate Training Residency is required. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry is necessary; Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is mandatory for the Brooklyn Park Inpatient position. Capability to uphold necessary medical staff privileges and maintain malpractice insurance. Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders in adults, adolescents, and children, along with advanced understanding of abnormal psychology principles. Must handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality. Proficient in summarizing relevant clinical information through written communication and medical documentation. Competent in using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook. Ability to navigate and utilize the intranet site as needed. Skilled at transitioning smoothly and quickly between diverse tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond swiftly and calmly as part of a team in volatile or emergency situations. Capable of making sound decisions under stress. After training, must be able to manage disruptive and aggressive patients. DEA registration is required. Pay range for this position is $300,000 to $325,000 depending on education and experience.
