The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently hiring a Scheduling and Production Coordinator to support the Flight Department at the Daytona Beach, FL campus. Embry-Riddle is the largest aviation training center in Central Florida, with more than 1,500 flight students and approximately 200 flight instructors. The Scheduling and Production Coordinator will join a team of individuals who play important roles in supporting the passion for aviation and education held by our students, instructor pilots, and staff. The Schedule and Production Coordinator can expect to coordinate flight student enrollment, analyze flight training productivity, and ensure effective and efficient use of resources through scheduling while mitigating training bottlenecks.

Primary responsibilities include:

Maintaining department effectiveness: Ensure a smooth production flow by maximizing re-enrollment of all existing and prospective flight students using various communication methods. Coordinate student-instructor pairings and ensure an appropriate workload of assigned instructor pilots is maintained. Identify and eliminate training and evaluation bottlenecks using statistical methods to evaluate training and service effectiveness.

Flight registration: Provide excellent customer service for all flight students seeking registration in flight courses and flight blocks. Utilize systems such as Campus Solutions, ETA, Foreflight, and Microsoft Access.

Planning and development: Develop short-term plans for efficient and effective use of assets and job functions for all assigned personnel by assigning work shifts for instructor pilots, coordinating aircraft and simulator maintenance and qualification schedules with other department priorities, collecting asset-utilization and student-enrollment data pertinent to creation of short-and long-term plans. Maintain scheduling database.

Effective communication: Communicate with students, managers, and administrative personnel through periodic reporting and regularly scheduled meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Management, organizational, public relations, technical, problem solving skills
  • Analytical skills with an in depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.

Preferred licenses/certificates and experience:

  • Commercial Pilot- Airplane Single Engine Land
  • Instrument Airplane
  • Knowledge of flight training processes and requirements
  • Knowledge of ERAU academic policies and courses.
