Job Summary: The Regional UA Admissions Advisor serves as the field representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for an assigned regional area. Recruits students to attend The University of Alabama by creating awareness about the University, its programs, and scholarship opportunities. Coordinates recruiting efforts with local alumni chapters. Identifies prospective qualified undergraduate students. Plans student receptions and counselor briefings. Analyzes data on current and future territories and markets. Additional Department Summary: Assists the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Transfer Recruitment in developing and managing the admissions plan for recruiting transfer students in Alabama and actively recruits transfer students by visiting in- and out-of-state community college regularly and providing current information about UA and its programs to community college counselors. Conducts regularly scheduled, on-campus information sessions at community colleges. Serves as primary recruiter for all out-of-state transfer recruitment. Reviews and evaluates transfer applications in a timely manner to determine admissibility to the University based on established policies and procedures. Travels to Tuscaloosa to participate in on-campus training and events as needed. Travels to community colleges in Alabama and other states to attend transfer recruitment events. Assists with freshman high school recruitment as needed. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience; OR master's degree and some recruitment, university admissions, public relations, marketing, sales, or communications experience. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Skills and Knowledge: Interest in working with prospective college students and their families. Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Basic desktop computing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Poise. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual. Bachelor's degree or higher in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, or counseling.
