About This Role
The Department of Computer Science at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Cybersecurity. We seek outstanding candidates with fundamental/foundational cybersecurity research expertise applied to research areas such as energy, formal methods, cyber-physical systems, and artificial intelligence (AI). The successful candidate will pursue a cybersecurity-focused research agenda, will contribute to cybersecurity education, establish internal and external research collaborations, and attract external funding for a self-sustaining research program.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field (completed by the start date).
- Demonstrated research expertise in cybersecurity.
- Strong publication record in high-quality venues.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hardware and/or software forensics, and/or reverse engineering, and/or malware analysis.
- Experience with cybersecurity in energy systems, smart grids, and/or critical infrastructure.
- Background in formal methods for security verification.
- Experience at the intersection of cybersecurity and machine learning and/or AI.
- Experience collaborating with industry, government agencies, or national laboratories.
- Evidence of successful grant writing and securing research funding.

- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range
$100,000-$115,000
