The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts is a specific investment by the General Assembly in many of the states most talented and promising young minds. Each year, students from counties across Arkansas come to ASMSA to live and learn within a community of 230 intellectual peers. Summary of Job Duties:*Develop, plan, and provide instruction for Japanese I, II, and III courses. Faculty teach five courses per semester in addition to campus service.
*Build excitement around learning with engaging lessons and opportunities for students to apply their knowledge.
*Create spaces for growth that foster respect and courtesy and encourages every student to participate.
*Provide extra support through tutoring, academic and research advising, or club sponsorships. Hold office hours that work for students, show genuine concern for their success, and help them develop strong study habits.
*Collaborate with colleagues to set goals, share fresh ideas, and innovate as part of ASMSA's mission.
*Grow your own skills by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences. Support outreach events, recruit new students, and show the world what makes ASMSA an incredible place to learn. Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required in Japanese Language, Teaching Foreign Languages, Asian Studies, or comparable subjects. A Bachelor's degree will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching experience. Three years or more are preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with gifted students, teaching through technology, developing interdisciplinary curricula, team planning skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and passion for working with students.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid driver's license.

Salary Information:

$57,000 - 62,000 (Depending on degree)
