The Role

Our Insurance group is looking for a Consulting Principal to join our journey. We're looking for someone who is can deliver immediate value to clients by working with a project-based team of consultants. As a Consulting Principal, you will lead analysis of our insurance clients' business and technology challenges and craft creative solutions to drive transformation.. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for product implementations, project management, and working with cross functional teams.

We're looking for Consulting Principals who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. At the Associate Director Level, this means overseeing advisory consulting engagements, being a trusted advisor to clients, establishing oneself as a thought leader in your field, solving complex problems, consultatively working with a client to achieve business goals, driving contributions to offerings and innovations, and serving as a people leader, guiding multiple teams as they work to transform a client and the world. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Engagement Lead and manage teams of Consultants, Senior Consultants, and Managers for one or more commercial projects to ensure effective negotiations, well-aligned solution-delivery-to-plan, clear engagement governance accountabilities, profitability, and overall client satisfaction
  • Provide business advisory and strategic insights specific to Property and Casualty and Claims Transformation.
  • Run consulting teams related to underwriting, policy, billing, and claims management.
  • Facilitate client workshops and communicate effectively with both IT and business users.
  • Develop comprehensive set of sound recommendations.
  • Actively identify engagement risks in immediate area of responsibility and assist in mitigation and tracking actions.
  • Draw conclusions from the market and industry trends and client issues.
  • Guide development, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews;
  • Support and contribute to the establishment of thought leadership in the industry, to promote Cognizant's brand and to drive additional opportunities for Cognizant.

Qualifications

  • A proven track record in a client-facing role with at least 2 of which (though ideally more) are leading digital technology team

* Experience in successfully developing and leading consultant teams in consultant tasks (e.g., planning, task structuring, analysis, solution delivery)

  • 10+ years experience in the insurance industry in either a consulting or industry practitioner role in Property and Casualty, preferably with Duck Creek.
  • 5+ years of experience with a management consulting firm.
  • Experience on large P&C insurance Core System Duck Creek transformation involving market leading solutions
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all audiences.
  • A positive, results oriented style, evidenced by listening, motivating, delegating, influencing, and monitoring the work being done to develop the next generations of leaders.
  • A deep sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness coupled with the ability and willingness to work hard under pressure.
  • An engaging social style complemented by the analytical pragmatism necessary to quickly dissect highly complex issues.
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility among peers, a professional who is respected for intelligence and technical expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant business or technical discipline; MBA or Master's or advanced business degree preferred
  • Travel Required: Up to 80%

* Onsite Requirements: 3+ days per week in Sarasota, at a client office.
