Material Handler/Shipping and Receiving Category: Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-382725 L3Harris' Communication Systems segment is currently seeking an Material Handler/Shipping and Receiving to join our team. This position will be based at our Rochester, NY facility. Position Overview: This person will contribute to the company's success by performing the physical and administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. This person will report directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for successfully performing a variety of stockroom operations in a factory environment. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team. Essential Responsibilities: Receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents. Stocks materials into inventory storage locations. Picks items from storage per a bill of materials and distributes to manufacturing lines. Packs or prepares items for delivery to internal and external customers, including small kits and large systems. Performs inventory cycle counts. Lifts heavy items and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, cranes, forklifts, etc. upon receipt of internal certification. Required (Basic) Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Preferred Qualifications: Previous receiving experience unpacking goods received against purchase orders or invoices. Ability to maintain accurate records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Previous stockroom or warehouse experience including picking, put away, and cycle counting. Proficient computer skills, including experience using Oracle EBS, Agile, and Microsoft Office programs. Able to operate a forklift upon receipt of internal certification. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements. Perform tasks using a ladder with possible heights up to 10ft. Ability to stand for 85% of hourly shift (shifts are 9 hours) Capable of bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs. Strong customer focus and communication skills, exhibits strong teamwork and collaboration. One week - Monday through Thursday 9-hour days with Friday off Next week 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and 4 hours Friday. Estimated Min Rate: $15.50 Estimated Max Rate: $17.00 Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
