As a Molding Maintenance Tech II, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs across all molding machines, equipment and tools at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. In this role, a typical day will include:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plastic injection molds in the Toolroom.
- Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections (PMs) to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of molds, automation, machinery, and equipment.
- Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines, mold and equipment using hand, power, and test tools.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose machine and equipment failures.
- Maintain machines and equipment by executing preventative maintenance.
- Support the replacement of defective components and perform basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications to execute maintenance tasks accurately.
- Apply mechanical and electrical knowledge independently and collaboratively with teammates.
- Support machine installations and maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
- Complete work orders accurately in Maximo.
- Ensure GMP and GDP compliance.
- Maintain 6S standards in maintenance workspaces.
- Support the training and development of lower-level Techs while developing under senior Technicians.
- Communicate effectively with senior technicians, leads, and management on safety, quality, and unplanned machine downtime.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Work hours: Sunday - Wednesday; 4:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Travel Requirements: 0-5%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in using hand, power, and test tools.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machine and equipment failures.
- Ability to read and understand Drawings, Diagrams Sketches, Specifications, Prints, and Manuals.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while independently executing tasks.
