Level 2:

  • Estimated annual base pay: $25.81 (minimum) - $32.26 (midpoint) - $38.71 (maximum) Plus shift differential and overtime IF APPLICABLE

Level 3:

  • Estimated annual base pay: $30.19 (minimum) - $37.74 (midpoint) - $45.29 (maximum) Plus shift differential and overtime IF APPLICABLE

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Mechanical Designer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Advanced level Drafter or Entry level Designer. Under limited to no supervision as a Drafter, performs drafting assignments and tasks for departments/internal customer groups. Under direct supervision as a designer, performs design application assignments and tasks for departments/internal customer groups.

What You Will Be Doing

Level 2:

  • Creating mechanical designs to Woodward specifications using Creo Parametric and Elements/Direct.
  • Supporting manufacturing by designing work-holding fixtures, check gages, and tooling.
  • Providing support for manufacturing by troubleshooting work-holding issues at the machines.
  • Keeping informed of innovative industry solutions for fixturing and tooling and looking for ways to introduce these to our facility.
  • May produce designs for a variety of materials including metal or 3D printed solutions.
  • Support tool designs through manufacture of the tool at an outside tool vendor and into implementation of the tool into the final process.
  • Apply design for cost and design for manufacturing strategies into tool designs.

Level 3:

What We Are Looking For

Level 2:

  • Some vocational or college-level courses, a two-year degree, a technical certificate, or relevant experience
  • Experience with MCAD drafting, along with knowledge of general machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes required

Level 3:

  • An associate degree, two-year technical degree, certificate, or equivalent applicable experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of design experience or a combination of a bachelor's degree and relevant experience is required.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
