Milliman is seeking an Operations Specialist to join our Health Research Team (HRT). This is a multifaceted role that combines responsibilities in product licensing administration and fulfillment, help desk support, SharePoint maintenance, and other general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and exhibit excellent communication abilities. The person in this role will have direct, daily client contact with numerous Health Research Team members, other Milliman professionals, and outside contacts (on occasion). This position reports to the Health Research Team's Senor Manager Project Management Office and Vendor Contract Management.

The Health Research Team supports Milliman products and practices in a variety of capacities. These include but are not limited to financial functions, client support, project management, data engineering, and data analytics services. As a shared service team, we pride ourselves in delivering high quality, timely support to Milliman's clients, consultants, and leadership teams.

Job Responsibilities

Help desk and Product licensing support



  • Triaging inquiries, directly answering questions from health professionals
  • End to end product licensing and fulfillment including tracking and renewal of licenses
  • Ensuring all licensing agreements and associated documents are properly executed and maintained


Process documentation / Operational efficiencies



  • Monitor and analyze operational processes to identify areas for improvement
  • Implement and maintain efficient workflows to enhance productivity and accuracy
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance


General administrative tasks



  • Data downloads
  • Assist in logistics of team events
  • New hire onboarding (timesheets, equipment, office badge, etc.)
  • Additional general administrative tasks, as necessary


Support special projects and initiatives as assigned

Minimum requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, operations management, project management, or related field
  • 3 years of proven work experience in an operations role, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Detailed-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality

  • Experience in a help desk support role
  • Familiarity with product licensing and/or access fulfillment processes
  • Experience with Client Relationship Management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics CRM) and/or EFT site management

    Location: This role is based out of the Milliman office in Chicago, IL, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US or in the office on a weekly basis with flexible work arrangements.

    Salary: The salary range is $55,000 - $109,000 depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. This is a fulltime, non-exempt position eligible for overtime after 40 hours of work, and subject to federal and state wage and hour laws.
