JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking to hire an Engineering Support Specialist. Responsibilities: Following are the key responsibilities of this role:
Education and Experience: This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional level.It requires a minimum of an Associate's degree or higher and 2+ years of relevant experience. Applicants must have a strong foundation, understanding, and experience in engineering disciplines of electronics and electro-mechanical systems. Computer aided design (CAD), Fusion 360, and 3D printing experience considered a plus. Experience with selection and identification of threads, plumbing fittings, and Swagelok/compression fittings is also a plus. The individual must be able to engage with a diverse customer base including faculty, staff, and students. The candidate should be creative and self-motivated. This position will also be an integral part of the department safety program and interact with laboratory personnel (undergraduate, graduate, post doctorial, and faculty) and Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) to identify and correct safety related issues.
