Summary: Designs commercial refrigerated merchandisers and display cases. Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of the designed case.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Ability to Design and Manage new product development projects of varying complexity through all stages of Engineering.
  • Take projects from conception through production with minimal management assistance.
  • Strong 3D Sheetmetal design experience required.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to develop new product specs.
  • Play a leading role in vendor selection and agency approvals
  • Build prototype units and support production with new products release.
  • Oversee testing to ensure all products meet design and agency requirements.



Education:

Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 10 years of design engineering experience is required.

Computer Skills:

Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in Solid Edge Software

Qualifications:

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Need to have good analytical skills. Need to be able to organize data into summary form to justify courses of action, build baseline measures and track improvements. Need to have excellent problem-solving skills

Communication Skills:

Needs to work productively with all employees in the plant and with the Engineering Department.
