DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will serve as a member of the hospital's core management team under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer. You will play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of the hospital's Clinical Services Division. Your responsibilities will involve coordinating and overseeing the various departments within the division, including Medical Staff; Psychiatry; General Medicine, including Dentistry and Podiatry; Laboratory; and Pharmacy. Additionally, you will ensure that these departments work together seamlessly with other divisions of the hospital, such as Social and Rehabilitative, Nursing, Quality Management, and Administrative to provide comprehensive and high-quality care to consumers. Your role will also involve planning, developing, organizing, implementing, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating the services and programs offered by the Clinical Services Division. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health care provided by the hospital and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in the administration of a major clinical services program in the psychiatric or medical care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, in a psychiatric hospital, community psychiatric program, forensic treatment center or similar setting; and certification in psychiatry or other recognized medical specialty by the American Medical Board or American Osteopathic Board; or
  • Three years of experience in the supervision of licensed physicians in a major clinical services program in the psychiatric or medical care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, in a psychiatric hospital, community psychiatric program, forensic treatment center or similar setting; and certification in psychiatry or other recognized medical specialty by the American Medical Board or American Osteopathic Board.

Special Requirement:

  • You must be in possession of a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania issued by the State Board of Medicine or the State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
