DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Residential Services Aide assists lead workers and supervisory staff with development, delivery, and monitoring of treatment, training, and services provided at the Central Building of Selinsgrove Center. As a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), you will follow each resident's Individual Habilitation Plan/Individual Support Plan (IHP/ISP) and help with self-care, socialization, and health maintenance. This role requires a genuine desire to provide care that assists, guides, and encourages individuals, while using observational skills to report changes in behavior to supervisors as needed. In addition, you will keep unit records, escort individuals to various activities, and respond to emergency situations that may require cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CRP) or the Heimlich Maneuver. - Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have rotating days off and every 3rd weekend off.

- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,582.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (commonwealth title); or
- Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
