Join us as our new Production Coordinator!

This position works under limited supervision and is primarily responsible for coordination of day-to-day production activities. This position provides people leadership, Continuous Improvement, and administrative support as needed. This position will be required to serve as a backup to the Supervisor in their absence.

In this role you'll make a difference by:







  • Leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams on Systematic Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement initiatives, to improve inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and drive the overall company strategy set by management



  • Conducting shift/department meetings to share company communications, department and plant concerns, and policy information



  • Working closely with the production supervisor and serve as a back up



  • Recommending and implementing solutions to improve processes regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost



  • Completion of PCQI training (company provided)



  • Reviewing production documents for accuracy, completion, and proper recordkeeping as well as following up on errors



  • Following up on non-conformities and corrective actions for quality concerns in the manufacturing process



  • Reporting and maintaining KPI's as requested by management, ensuring actions are taken when appropriate



  • Participating in production decisions concerning new product lines or processes



  • Continuously supports, recommends and executes programs to comply with all State, Federal and local safety and food/feed safety regulations.



  • Fostering an environment conducive to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing by utilizing 5S and other continuous improvement tools.



  • Driving a safety culture by ensuring safety compliance through tool box talks, PPE guidance, and leading by example



  • Assessing equipment, building, and grounds conditions and initiating work requests for repairs.



  • Supporting the production team on the floor to meet goals and deadlines as needed



  • Involvement in audits (external and internal) as well as following up on observation and deviations



  • Updating/managing SOP's, WI's, and other production related documents



  • Other duties as assigned by management





To succeed you must hold:




  • Ability to read, write and speak English.



  • Ability to effectively communicate oral and written information and respond to questions from managers and other employees in a professional manner.



  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.



  • Ability to read, follow, and train others on work instructions.



  • Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process.



  • Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs and ERP system (SAP preferred).



  • Possess working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their application.



  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.



  • Shows initiative to improve work processes or question the status quo.



  • Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift.



  • Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.



  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with 5 or more years of experience in a production environment preferred.
